Former Prime Minister Tony Blair has launched a bid to work for Donald Trump as his Middle East peace envoy, reports broke indicating that Mr Blair had held talks with Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner in an attempt to scoop a role within Trump’s peace keeping force.

In addition to the recent meeting which was only last week, Mail On Sunday reported that Mr Blair had met with Mr Kushner on atleast three occasions since September which might mean that a role is in the works for our former prime minister.

Blair who has previously held a role as envoy to the Middle East for the Quartet of the EU, the US, Russia and the United Nations is thought to be able to offer experience which team Trump could really use especially with negotiating peace with the Middle East.

A spokesman for Mr Blair, who is currently in the Middle East has already rushed to his defence saying “We do not comment on private meetings.”

News of these secret meetings come weeks after it was emerged that Tony Blair would make a return to frontline politics, Mr Blair, who wants a second referendum and has pledged to campaign to keep the UK in the EU, delivered his latest attack on Brexit in a powerful speech to Remain supporters last month.
