Sainsbury’s welcomes MP Vicky Ford to local school to take part in Active Kids holiday club

23 Aug Sainsbury’s welcomes MP Vicky Ford to local school to take part in Active Kids holiday club

This summer, Sainsbury’s is launching its Active Kids holiday clubs scheme in 70 locations across England and Wales, including Springfield Primary School in Chelmsford which will be visited by Vicky Ford, MP for Chelmsford on Friday 23 August 2019.

During the visit, Vicky will join the children taking part in a number of different activities, ranging from cricket, gymnastics, dance, to arts and crafts and active play.

Sainsbury’s launched Active Kids holiday clubs last year to encourage children from 5-15 years to be more active and healthier during the summer holidays. As part of the retailer’s commitment to helping its customers live well for less, Active Kids holiday club places cost just £7.50 per child per day, including all activities, a healthy lunch and snacks. Recent research by Sainsbury’s revealed that working parents are set to fork out £34 per day during the summer holidays for each child. Based on that daily fee, childcare over the entire six week summer holiday will reach an astonishing £9.9 billion for families across the UK.*

The holiday clubs are hosted by Premier Education, one of the leading holiday club providers in the UK. They provide action-packed programmes that are delivered by fully accredited ukactive KIDS Code of Practice professionals and are supported by trained and accredited young leaders from the local community.

This year, Sainsbury’s Active Kids holiday clubs will be taking place across England and Wales throughout the summer. To book a space at Sainsbury’s Active Kids Holiday Clubs this summer, customers can sign up via: https://activekids.sainsburys.co.uk/

Vicky Ford, MP for Chelmsford, said:
“The summer holidays are great but they can also be periods when children feel lonely and bored. Clubs like this provide a fantastic opportunity to make new friends and have great experiences. It’s really good to have the Active Kids holiday club in Chelmsford.”
