Ryanair Donates £100,000 To Sos Children’s Villages Uk

28 Dec Ryanair Donates £100,000 To Sos Children’s Villages Uk

Ryanair, Europe’s No 1 airline, made a £100,000 donation to SOS Children’s Villages UK, its 2016 chosen European charity partner, following a year of fundraising activities.

SOS Children’s Villages care for orphaned and abandoned children in 125 countries worldwide by providing them with a family, education and healthcare and over 80% of its funding is raised through corporate and individual donations.

A number of fundraising initiatives were held throughout 2016 including a digital donation day hosted on Ryanair.com, and a social media childhood memory competition. Ryanair thanked all of its customers who supported this charity partnership over the past 12 months.

 Ryanair’s Robin Kiely said:

“We are pleased to have partnered with SOS Children’s Villages UK and support the invaluable work they do to help orphaned and abandoned children. We wish to thank all of our customers who supported our partnership this year and are proud that the £100,000 raised for SOS Children’s Villages will allow them to help even more children.”
SOS Children’s Villages’ Richard Booth said:

“The partnership aligned travel destinations to our children’s villages and enabled Ryanair and its customers to support our work. Thank you to Ryanair and its customers for supporting us in 2016. The £100k donation will help support more orphaned and abandoned children.”
