A great atmosphere with enticing lights and appetising aromas is what I was welcomed with upon my arrival at Choppy’s Restaurant in Ware. Only a short drive up the A414 for me then down the A10 and I was there, I chose one of the tables towards the rear of the restaurant which overlooked an immaculate garden and decking which added to my evening’s scenery.

The Menu:
I had starter options such as the Soup Of The Day, Chargrilled King Prawns or Dressed Crab amongst the selection, I went with the Duck hash (£6.95) which was served with poached eggs and duck sauce. Served within minutes of me ordering I was merely enjoying my first drink of the night.

For my mains the selections ranged from a seafood selection right down to steak, Pan fried Cod Loin, Wing of Skate, Seasonal Risotto all graced the menu together with Chicken Supreme, Jerk marinated Swordfish or Plate of pig. After much deliberation the 10 oz Rump (£18.95) steak was my choice, served with sauce, salad and chips ! Succulent taste in the steak, the green peppercorn sauce I ordered helped bring out the flavours in the rather heavenly dish.

For my dessert I knew I wouldn’t go wrong with the selection of vanilla, double chocolate chip and strawberry ice cream.

The Verdict: 4.5 out of 5

Great service, a lovely eatery set in an opulent area with tongue tickling menu selection. Very affordable !
