The attack outside the Houses of Parliament in London is the latest in a series of terrorist atrocities, MPs and world leaders have come together to come and show unity whilst Police now rush to chase clues as to who was behind the attack and if they had any assistance from anyone.

The death toll rose on Wednesday evening, was at five victims as police officer PC Keith Palmer was confirmed to have died, tributes poured in for the officer as this morning Parliament has resumed in Westminster.

Braintree MP James Cleverly led tributes saying:

“I’ve known Keith for 25 years. We served together in the Royal Artillery before he became a copper. A lovely man, a friend. I’m heartbroken.”

Whilst conservative MP Geoffrey Cox wrote: “Deeply sad that a brave Pc, Keith Palmer, died in the service of his country, doing his duty today. We should be proud to know such men.”

Was former soldier, Foreign Office minister Tobias Ellwood was hailed a hero for attempting to resuscitate the police officer fatally attacked outside parliament.

Big Brother star Chelsea Singh tweeted “PC KEITH PALMER WE SALUTE YOU! You died in the line of duty. Protecting us. You will never be forgotten! Today we stand united!

BBC Radio 4’s Nick Robinson tweeted “Thank you PC Keith Palmer who died defending democracy”

In other developments armed police are reported to have carried out an overnight raid on a Birmingham property, which was reportedly linked to the attack in Westminster.
