The Mayor of Witham Councillor JoAnn Williams has officially launch the Every Drop Counts initiative by unveiling a special work of art.

More than 15,000 customers of Essex & Suffolk Water in Witham, Essex, are receiving a letter from their drinking water supplier asking if they would like an audit of their showers, taps and toilets.

The sculpture of a water drop shows the amount of water used by two people if they do not turn the tap off whilst brushing their teeth over a year, as this can waste up to six litres of water each time.

The Rt Hon Priti Patel MP for Witham said: “Essex & Suffolk Water’s Every Drop Counts campaign in Witham offers local residents a great chance to lower their household bills through saving water. We are very lucky in the UK that water is readily available and is it important to remember that this is not the case across the world.
