13 Jun Mayor of Redbridge kickstarts The Mayor’s Appeal

by Dan Bryans

The new Mayor of Redbridge, Councillor Linda Huggett, made the most of her Monday night as she launched this year’s Mayor’s Appeal last night for Haven House Children’s Hospice and Saint Francis Hospice with a charity dinner at Papillon restaurant in Chigwell.

Cllr Huggett who was joined by her husband Brian told us “It is wonderful to see so much support tonight, there are different Mayors from different boroughs”

She added “In troubled times like this it’s good to be united, I can’t thank everyone that’s attended enough”

Adding to the extravagance of the evening were Mayors from Haringey – Cllr Stephen Mann, Hillingdon – Cllr Carol Melvin, Havering -Councillor Linda Van den Hende , Bromley – Councillor Kathy Bance and Waltham Forest – Cllr Yemi Osho.

The Mayor’s Appeal Charity raises funds for local causes throughout the municipal year. It is the first time a children’s hospice and adult hospice which serve the borough have both been selected to benefit from the appeal.
