Maldon rally driver Nabila Tejpar aims for top Iberica Cup result in Asturias

10 Sep Maldon rally driver Nabila Tejpar aims for top Iberica Cup result in Asturias

Maldon rally driver Nabila Tejpar will make the trip to Spain this week with the aim of securing a season-best result, as she contests the fourth round of the Peugeot Rally Cup Iberica,  Rally Princesa de Asturias (14th/15th September).

Tejpar, who secured the Prestone MSA British Rally championship Ladies title in 2017 has embarked on a multi-series campaign this season, mixing the single-make Iberica Cup with the selected rounds of the British Championship. With progressive results in the Peugeot series, Tejpar is aiming to bag a season best result in Spain and beat her Rallye de Ferrol tenth spot.

Piloting her Peugeot 208 R2, Tejpar and co-driver Richard Bliss have most recently contested the Ulster Rally as part of the BRC and despite torrential rain and difficult conditions, Tejpar secured fifth in the Junior category.

With Bliss unavailable for the return to the Iberica Cup, experienced co-driver Max Freeman will step into the seat for the rally and the newly formed duo will be looking for a top result in the hotly contested championship.

Asturias will mark Tejpar’s second visit to Spain to compete and only her third in the Iberica Cup. The series kicked off with the World Rally Championship qualifier Rally Portugal and a confidence boosting result of 11th spot would be the start to the season she was looking for.

Tejpar went one better in Ferrol with 10th but the 25-year-old has cited this weekend as the turning point of the season and is aiming for a career best result.
