Its been a nail biting General Election so far, across the county of Essex there has been a high turnout reported across the county.

Although its still quite early it does seem like Essex is becoming a sea of blue shadowing from the results of the 2015 general election.

The results as we know them so far are as follows:

Braintree sees another Conservative hold as James Cleverly retains his seat.

In Witham conservative Priti Patel holds seat with increased marjority. 

Conservative Alex Burghart becomes Brentwood’s new MP taking over from Sir Eric Pickles.

Saffron Walden welcomes new MP as conservative Kemi Badenoch wins.

Clacton is now a conservative seat as Giles Watling wins 

In Maldon conservative John Whittingdale holds seat 

Thurrock held by conservative Jackie Doyle-Price with 19,880 votes

Conservatives hold Southend West with a win for Sir David Amess.

Bernard Jenkin holds Harwich & North Essex seat for Conservative. 

In Colchester its a strong hold for conservative Will Quince.

Rochford & Southend East is yet another conservative hold for James Dudderidge.

In Chelmsford, conservative Vicky Ford has made the transition from MEP to MP after being elected.

In Rayleigh the Conservatives have held the seat with Mark Francois victory.

In Harlow Conservative Robert Halfon has retained his seat telling us “I am so humbled that the people of Harlow have shown such great faith in me.”

South Basildon and East Thurrock where held by conservative Stephen Metcalfe.

Conservative John Baron held his seat in Basildon and Billericay.
