22 Mar Inside Essex Police Musical Society’s upcoming production
Essex Police Musical Society are set to display their latest production this spring which will be in aid of PARC Play and Resource Centre, Essex Air Ambulance and the Essex Police 4×4 Fun Day. ‘Into The Woods’ will be performed between Tuesday April 4th and Saturday April 8th.
The synopsis of the edge-of-the-seat performance is as follows:
When the Baker and his wife are cursed with childlessness by the witch, they embark on a quest for several special objects in the hope that they will break the spell.
They swindle and lie to steal from Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel and Jack (you know him, he’s the one who climbed the beanstalk).
As everyone’s wishes are granted, their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results and they all have to deal with the consequences.
It takes a while to realise they have to act altogether to succeed in their plans. Thus, what begins as a lively irreverent fantasy becomes a moving lesson about community responsibility and the stories we tell our children.
