H4H’s Colchester Recovery Centre welcomes supporters

28 Sep H4H’s Colchester Recovery Centre welcomes supporters

This weekend, a group of dedicated supporters were welcomed to the Help for Heroes (H4H) Recovery Centre in Colchester to see how their support helps our wounded, injured and sick Service personnel, Veterans and their families.

Now in their third year, the H4H Friends Events take place at each of the four Recovery Centres, allowing regular givers and those who have left a gift in their Will to see for themselves the impact of their donations and to meet the people who inspire their support.

The day started with a welcome by the Head of Recovery and an in-depth tour of the Centre, named after Noel Chavasse, one of only three people to be awarded the Victoria Cross twice.

Chavasse VC House has an adaptive gym, an award-winning reflective garden (Hope on the Horizon), a Support Hub made up of multiple charities, a psychological well-being suite, en-suite bedrooms, family rooms and a creative studio. It has been specially designed to offer the very best recovery environment in order to inspire, enable and support those who are wounded, injured or sick while serving our country. The centre and its staff encourages them to lead active, independent and fulfilling lives while also supporting their loved ones.

If you would like to donate to the charity visit the Help for Heroes’ Give Support page.
