Family favourite Lee Valley Park Farms to reopen this month

01 Feb Family favourite Lee Valley Park Farms to reopen this month

Waltham Abbey’s Lee Valley Park Farms is getting ready to welcome back old friends and new to its 17 acre site next week: The popular family attraction will reopen its doors for 2018 on Saturday 10 February and host a special Conservation Week during the half term break, inviting big and little kids alike to learn about the importance of protecting wildlife.

Awarded with a zoological licence in 2017, the farm aims to educate its visitors about the natural habitats in which both animal and plant life live and grow, as well as the environmental threats endangering both.

In addition to reuniting visitors with its assortment of feathered and furry animals, Lee Valley Park Farms will run a selection of special activities throughout Conservation Week including flying displays and nature craft making sessions.

James Broomfield, Lee Valley Park Farms’ Manager said: “We’re really looking forward to reopening our gates next week with our new Conservation Week event. Our aim, through engaging activities and shows, is to educate our visitors and raise general awareness of the wonderful world of wildlife that we need to protect – both here in the UK and abroad.

“We have an exciting year of great activities planned for 2018: In addition to some of our favourite events like the Easter Baby Boom and Sheep Week, we’re also hosting a few new activities such as our Super Hero & Princess Weekend in May which promises to be lots of fun for boys and girls.”

Visitors interested in joining the farm’s Annual Pass scheme will be able to take advantage of a special offer running throughout Conservation Week to purchase a Standard rate pass at the reduced price of £35pp, when buying two or more passes (usual price £42pp).  Existing members can also renew their Standard and Off Peak Annual Passes at the discounted price of £35pp and £25pp respectively and save £5pp based on last year’s prices.

In addition to unlimited visits to the farm during open season, benefits of the Annual Pass membership include free guest passes for every adult member, exclusive offers and discounts as well as a £5 voucher for child members to spend in the farm’s gift shop.
