A student from Epping Forest College has scooped a charity prize to further his career after entering a local filmmaking competition.

Local student Deividas Balciunas who has previously spoken of how he plans to continue on to university to continue studying media was the winner of the MMBF Amar Adatia Award a charitable award that provides the winner with a DSLR camera and a crew role in one of Amar’s next films.

Media lecturer Shaz Akram from Epping Forest College told us “It is so great to see these kinds of awards inspiring the youth to follow their passion and dreams. Huge thanks to amar and everyone involved. This has boosted devidas’ confidence to another level and it’s these things that make someone stick to their passion and follow that dream.”

The award is a latest in giving back schemes local actor and producer Amar Adatia has engaged in, earlier this year it was reported that he had donated £5,000 to support film and acting initiatives to support aspiring local talent from the county of Essex.
