The death of the dealership? Carspring launches in #Colchester

22 Nov The death of the dealership? Carspring launches in #Colchester

Online used car dealership, Carspring, officially launches in Colchester, enabling customers in the historic Essex city to click online and get a used car delivered from their very own dedicated page.

The launch follows the start of a nationwide TV campaign that hit our screens this August. Pushing forward an easy and hassle-free method of buying a used car online, the new dedicated Colchester site emphasises the company’s integrated online offer of flexible finance, a 14-day money-back guarantee and doorstep delivery within the Colchester area.

The company’s launch in Colchester reflects Carspring’s exponential development from a disruptive startup to a growth stage company in just a year. The online dealership is currently on track to sell 3,000 cars per year with that number doubling every few months. Through buying a used car with Carspring, each car buyer saves on average £1,000 vs. buying their used car elsewhere.

Co-founder at Carspring, Maximilian Vollenbroich, sees the Colchester launch as an integral part of the company’s drive to bridge an e-commerce gap, yet to be dominated by a universally-known player:

“The Colchester launch is a big moment for everyone at Carspring. We’ve been operating across the UK on very much a beta basis. But, with the launch of our dedicated Colchester site, we’re showing Colchester and the good people of Essex that we’re here and it’s time for traditional dealerships to up their game or get out of the fast lane.”

“Right across the board, every sector is going online. Old conversion barriers relating to issues around trust are being broken down, as e-commerce proves its salt as a convenient and trustworthy alternative.”

“If I want a book delivered, I go on Amazon. If I want to get my groceries delivered, I go to Ocado. And now, with our official Colchester launch, we’re opening up a genuine, online alternative to the people of the Colchester and the wider Essex area to buy their car online.”

“We really are delighted to open our Colchester site. It may be the oldest town in the UK, but it’s a place always open to fresh ideas. By launching in Colchester, we’re backing Colchester.”

It seems the shift online is one from which no market is immune, even when it comes to high-ticket purchases. And, as far as items on your shopping list go, buying a car is typically the second highest-value item you’ll purchase in your life after your home.
