A collection of comedians came together to raise over £7,500 for Haven House Children’s Hospice on Tuesday evening in a comedy night at the Union Chapel in Islington.

The event, sponsored by Orbian, was hosted by Live at the Apollo star Russell Kane and featured a headline appearance by host of Channel 4’s The Last Leg, Adam Hills.

Nearly 300 guests attended with an eclectic range of talent delivering high energy humour, including Seann Walsh, Kelly Convey, Elliot Steel, Ivo Graham and Marlon Davis.

Russell Kane said: “It was a brilliant night and I was thrilled to take part and support a hospice so local to me. Being able to help means a lot and I was delighted that I was able to meet some of the families in the audience. Also the acts were bloody funny!”

Harry Luxton from Romford, who is 17 and has been using Haven House since 2015, attended the comedy night with his parents, Joanne and Steve, and sister Ellie.

Harry, who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, was able to meet Russell Kane backstage and had his photo taken with the Woodford Green star.

He said: “It was a really good night and I haven’t laughed so much in a long time. Russell was a great compere.”
