Speaking following her appointment Sam said: “I am delighted to be back policing Basildon; I grew up in Basildon and have strong connections to this area. I want to build on the work that has already been done in relation to our community focus and partnership working.

“There are exciting opportunities to explore and progress with Basildon Council and other partners which will only enhance the service we give to the people who live and work in Basildon.

I have a fantastic team of officers and staff and I want to lead and support them to deliver a quality service across our district.’
